We have stayed at MSS many times We all love the Jamaican fruit. The fruit was not the quality that other villas served
We will return to Primrose as we loved the villa.

h my gosh, the beds were torture devices! The most broke down uncomfortable pieces of furniture ever. We could only sleep about 4 hours at a time and then to wake up in pain. We were exhausted for the week from lack of sleep. After day one I was checking flights home and considering taking a loss. This was so bad and it took a week at home to recover. I can overlook a lot of things but if a place doesn't have a good bed to sleep on, the whole trip is ruined.
Now lets get to costs....holy cow is it expensive!! This was our 8th trip to Jamaica, but first time in a Villa. We usually stay in an all-inclusive resort. At the resort once you've paid for your trip it's a done deal...ALL INCLUSIVE, you don't have to pay for anything else. At the villa you pay for everything, food, alcohol, gas, everything and let me tell you, it's expensive in Jamaica! A loaf of bread at the grocery store was $8.50 and a small bottle of coffee creamer was $10.50. Our grocery bill for four adults was right at $1000 for 6 days. Yes that did include beer and a few bottles of hard liquor, which if it isn't consumed is left there.
I won't be back to this villa or any other villa as far as that goes. I will be back to Jamaica, to a resort where I have no worries and I will love it.

tops however. The cooking (we had all Jamaican meals like ackee, fried dumplings, gungo peas soup, salt mackerel, kidney) was ok - some better than others

beef ribs, and any way he cooks chicken was delicious! Let him know you want to sample local foods, and eat lots of whatever fresh fruits are in season. Don't miss the salt fish and ackee, plantains and johnny cakes and tons of fresh cut up fruit! It's not just healthy and delicious, it's economical! We came in at well under our $30pp/day budget, and we had some big appetites in our group! It's a real bargain compared with the cost of eating every meal out at a restaurant. Remember: You have control over food costs. You are paying for the food and Sheldon is glad to prepare whatever you buy or whatever you ask him to buy. (he keeps receipts when ordering from the nearby Hillside Market AKA "Chen's", which delivers).
We enjoyed side trips to the Blue Hole Waterfall (less crowded and IMO better than Dunns River Falls); another day, after rum tasting at Hampden Estates we drifted down the Martha Brae; and on a third day trip we went to the nearby Greenwood Estate followed after dark by a swim in Glistening Waters.
So much to do, but nothing better than to lounge by the spacious pool at Primrose Path, stroll over for a swim at the gorgeous Silver Sands beach (There's a snack bar at the beach, but no need to carry money. You can run a tab), or wander over to the Fishermen's Beach just outside the gate.
There, a ten-minute walk away, you can grab a cold drink at a truly local bar and engage with the very friendly local fishermen. Tell these hard-working fishermen you are looking to eat some fish or lobster and it will magically appear at your house! (Sheldon saves receipts) Want to hike or to snorkel? Before you know it, you'll have a guide. And admire their carvings. There's some real talent there, and they'll make a carving-to-order out of local wood if you give advance notice. All, without the pressure of some of the tourist spots.
In sum, Primrose Path is an excellent choice for a large group of friends or a family reunion. Once you get used to being pampered, you'll have a truly memorable and relaxing stay.
