10. Shine's Sea Change: From Old Board to New Kayak (as he may tell it)
De people dem call me Shine. For nuff years, me an me ole windsurfer board move like shadow pon de sea ah Silver Sands. We ketch de morning light, greet de horizon, an' me know every one a de wave dem like family.
Me old board, she not pretty, but she strong an she brave. She carry me thru when de water flat an when it storm. Tourists an pickney pon de beach, dem always look out fe Shine an him trusty board. We together long time, like good frens, jus ridin de water, an me dive deep catchin de conch.
One day, change come inna de form ah bright new kayak. One nice owner man from one villa give me. Him love de sea jus like me. Dis new boat, she smooth an fast. We Jamaicans have a saying - “de new broom sweep clean, but ole broom know de corners”! But me grateful bad. It mek me work likkle easier an more comfort. An it show me how much me mean to de Silver Sands people dem.
Me nah tell no lie - sometime me miss de sound of me windsurfer an de paddle me mek outta one piece a wood me did find in de trash. But dis here new kayak, she ah blessing. Change nuh part ah life? Like de tide. Me still de same ole Shine, jus wid a new sumting under me. De sea, she nah change, an' de peace she bring nah change.
So come, share a moment wid me, Shine, as me glide pon de sea. Mek we watch de sun bright up de sky, an exchange nuff story. Silver Sands more than sand an sea; Trus me, it bring whole heap ah story an mek nuff memories fe we to keep.

11. Jamaica Dental Project Nov 2023 Report
Weekdays from November 6th thru 17th 2023 our USA-based dental team worked in the town of Duncans, Trelawny providing free dental care to local residents of all ages. Also during that period a Sealant Team went to some local Trelawny primary schools applying sealants on age appropriate children.
Our clinic site in Duncans was at the Seventh Day Adventist’s Campsite Building. President Pastor Karl Archer once again gave us permission to utilize the property and erected a large tent to protect from sun and rain those seeking treatment. The accommodations were only surpassed by the incredible generosity and desire to assist us demonstrated by the church’s staff and patrons. It was a tremendous show of support. We hope to be able to continue this relationship and work at this site for years to come.
For the second time the Great Shape organization via Joe Wright arranged for his Jamaica-based crew, led by Reyon Richards, to set up, service and break down the dental equipment for us to utilize. This donation was the absolutely crucial to enabling us to treat the large numbers of patients we did in the limited time we had. Our appreciation is endless and it is also a relationship we hope to continue and want to make them proud of their contribution.
The 2 dental teams, each serving a week, comprised 7 oral surgeons, 7 general dentists, 2 pediatric dentists, 5 dental hygienists and 6 dental assistants. Most were returning professionals from our prior trips, but we were extremely happy to bring some folks for their first time. We hope they will come again.
Dining at Endless Summer Villa
As we have in most of our years in Trelawny we had the good fortune to be obtain villas in Silver Sands. This is an essential piece to our being able to continue the Project here. Many thanks to the management, staff and owners. It takes numerous people both in the US and in Jamaica to make this Jamaica Dental Project happen. We feel very fortunate and value all these relationships knowing full well it could not happen without them.

12. Paradise Paddling: An Unforgettable Adventure at Silver Sands Jamaica
Vacationing at the Endless Summer Villa felt like a leap into paradise.
One golden morning, my friends and I geared up with paddle boards and kayaks for an epic adventure. The Caribbean Sea was exceptionally calm, perfect for a novice like me. Nigel, our ever-reliable houseman (and also a lifeguard), sprang into action, expertly prepping our gear and helping us lug everything to the water’s edge to show us the best place to launch.
We set off into the crystal-clear expanse, and were soon skimming past the Silver Sands Beach. The scenery was jaw-dropping, with the sea's glassy surface reflecting the azure sky.
After about 20 minutes, we landed at a hidden gem - a deserted cove with a breathtaking beach all to ourselves. The untouched sands and the peacefulness of the spot were pure magic.
The hours that followed were pure bliss. We sprawled on the soft sand, soaking up the sun's warmth, and plunged into the sparkling sea. Snorkeling gear from the villa allowed us to dive into a vibrant underwater world. We were mesmerised by the kaleidoscope of fish and the beauty of the coral reefs.
When it was time to return, the paddle back to Endless Summer was even more delightful. The wind and waves were in our favour, making the journey smooth and exhilarating.
As we arrived back at the villa, we were welcomed with the tantalising aroma of another of Pauline’s incredible lunches, the perfect conclusion to our unforgettable morning.
