Here are suggested Menu Items from the Jamahome cook. Feel free to make your own suggestions and special requests, and advise the cook of any special dietary conditions.
DINNER
Chicken Dishes
- Jerk Chicken (A Jamaican Favorite). Jerked with Jamaican herbs and spices. Served with rice and beans or Spanish rice.
- Curried Chicken. Curried with Jamaican curry, herbs and spices. Served with rice and beans or Spanish rice.
- Brown Stew Chicken. Fried chicken steamed with onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and Jamaican spices. Served with rice and beans or Spanish rice.
Seafood (Fish, Lobster and Shrimp)
- Sweet and Sour Fish (Red Snapper). Fish fillet cooked with herbs and spices, ginger, sweet pineapples and carrots. Served with rice and beans.
- Jamaican Escovitch Fish (Red Snapper). Fried and garnished with onions and bell or hot peppers. Served with fried festival biscuits.
- Caribbean Lobster. Lobster cooked with garlic butter, sautéed onions and bell peppers.
- Breaded Caribbean Lobster. Breadcrumb coated lobster steamed in butter sauce. Served with boiled potatoes or Spanish rice.
- Buffalo Shrimp. Succulent shrimp coated in seasoned flour and deep fried, then coated in spicy butter sauce. Served with cauliflower and cheese.
Meats
- Pepper Steak. Steak cut in lengthwise strips seasoned with herbs, spices, onions and bell peppers cooked on a low flame. Served with rice and beans.
- Meatloaf. Minced beef seasoned with Jamaican spices. Served with pasta, spicy cornbread and sweet potato salad.
- Beef and Pepper Pie. Delicious blend of beef baked with bell pepper and cheese.
- Pork Chops. Pork chops marinated with Jamaican herbs and jerk or original spices. Served with mashed potatoes and garden salad.
- Tropical Pork. A tropical taste for pork chops with pineapple, raisins and spices perking them up nicely. Served over cooked rice.
Vegetables Dishes
- Lasagna. Baked with tomato sauce and layers of minced beef and cheese (meat can be omitted for vegetarians).
- Pasta Casserole. Macaroni baked with sharp cheddar cheese.
- Casserole Combo. String beans, carrots, cauliflower and bok choy steamed with garlic, onions, butter, salt and pepper to taste.
- Vegetable Casserole. Carrots, string beans and potatoes baked with milk sauce, butter and onions.
Salads
- Garden Salad. Fresh lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots garnished with cucumber and tomato slices combined with vinaigrette or salad dressing of your choice.
- Crunch Slaw. Shredded cabbage and carrots garnished with raisins and nuts.
Desserts
- Lime Pudding Cake. Steamed pudding cake with lime juice.
- Coconut Cream Pie. Topped with toasted shredded coconut and garnished with cherries and meringue or whipped topping.

BREAKFAST
- Jamaican Ackee with Bacon (Jamaican National Dish). Ackee fruit with bacon strips seasoned with onions, tomatoes and bell peppers. Served with fried biscuits.
- French Toast. Toasted slices of white or brown bread soaked with milk and eggs.
- Pancakes. Banana or plain pancakes served with homemade flavored syrup.
- Bacon and Egg Breakfast Tarts. Pastry shells with bacon or ham and cheddar cheese.
- Eggs. Cooked fried, poached, scrambled or sunny side up.
- Fruits (Served with breakfast). Slices of papaya, pineapple, and banana. Grapefruit. Slices of mango and watermelon when in season.
LUNCH AND SNACKS
- Sandwiches. Corn beef, cheese, and tuna
