More About the Ladywood Estate in Spring Farm, Jamaica

The Ladywood Villa and Cottage Rooms Property nestles in the hills above Half Moon Golf Club and the Rose Hall Beach Club.
I was driven through the Half Moon Golf Club and past the prestigious Sugar Mill restaurant to the security gates of the Spring Farm Estates gated community. We drove on up the hill and turned right into the extensive Ladywood property. Tennis courts, both left and right, reflect the property ownership by a famous Jamaican tennis family. I noticed a large colourful bar on the right with lovely views over the Rose Hall area. The property sits high up on the hills overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
From the parking area we were greeted by Ensleigh and Karen. On walking to the house there were seating areas with thatched cabanas left and right. There is beautiful Jamaican art. The rich autumnal-coloured Moroccan-inspired living room area complete with floor cushions and chaise lounges opens out onto the large balcony where your meals can be served overlooking the bay. I then walked down to the swimming pool.
The property is surrounded by extensive gardens where sweet sop, sour sop, lime, coconut, June plum, avocado pear, banana, plantain, ackee, guava, mango and starfruit bear plentifully. It is lovely to walk through these gardens. There are swings and a BBQ area. There are many small seating areas around the property where you can get away form your fellow guests!
Tearing myself away from the grounds, there are three bedrooms on the right side of the house each with their own seating area outside. Jamaican Reggae colours inspire the decor and there is creative use of zinc, bamboo and thatch. The King sized Master Bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The adjacent two bedrooms are Queen and share an adjoining bathroom.
On the left side of the house is another King sized bedroom with ensuite bathroom, verandah seating area and sea views.
Separate to the Main House is the cottage/annex which has one en suite room with two double beds, a second ensuite room with twin beds, and a third en suite room with queen bed. These three rooms share a verandah with seating areas which overlook the Montego Bay vista. You can enjoy your home-cooked breakfast here.
Ladywood is not suitable for mobile toddlers and children that cannot swim due to unfenced pool and unsafe railings through which they could put their heads.
If you wish to tear yourself away from the wonderful property and go to the beach, the driver is on stand by to take you there. Your beach is the Rose Hall Beach Club. This is a five-minute drive from Ladywood. At the beach club there is a grill and bar beside the pool. The pool has no lifeguard. Walking further you reach the beach with shady palm trees, chairs, roped off swimming area and lifeguard.
