Leon Francis operates a souvenir stall in front of his home on the Braco Hill. He's a wood carver and in the photo at left you can see him posing with a piece of his work, which, incidentally, is making its way to England, as it was purchased by a British visitor shortly after this photo was taken.
Leon specializes in carving fish, especially big fish, and he does have pieces of birds and heads. He points out that his bases are detachable so his pieces are easy to pack.
Leon's stall is situated on the steep part of the hill, so be sure to pull off the road completely so you don't obstruct the traffic thereby creating a danger to others. Take your time, get out of your car or bus and have a chat with Leon. Expect to bargain.
