Jamaica Launches Aggressive Tourism Marketing Campaign in USA 2010
The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is leaving no stone unturned to bring in the tourists during the current winter season and has among various initiatives, launched an aggressive public relations and advertising campaign in the United States to boost travel.
The USA is the primary market for Jamaica and the campaign launched by the JTB seeks to target the visitors who wish to escape the prevailing cold conditions in the northern part of the country.
Given the severe winter conditions in Europe and North East America, tourists are already flocking to the island. The record number of visitors it received on the first holiday weekend in December shows that Jamaica is reaping rich dividends.
According to the Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett the Christmas weekend recorded 20 thousand visitors arriving at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, registering a 10.6 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year. This has brought to 70,000 the total number of visitors since the December 15 start of the winter tourist season.
It goes without saying that this spells good news for vacation rentals and Jamaica accommodation providers such as Silver Sands Villas, Jamaica. The secure community of villas and cottages on the scenic north coast of the island remains the most sought out accommodation destination for the discerning travellers looking for unique holiday experiences.
