In November 1953, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with her Consort H. R. H. The Duke of Edinburgh were paid an official visit to Jamaica. They landed at Montego Bay in the morning, received an official welcome and then proceeded to Kings House in Kingston.But they made a rest stop en route at Silver Sands, the Queen occupying Queen's Cottage.
