Jamaican Voted Leading Honeymoon Destination In The Caribbean By Canadian Travel Agents
Jamaica, which was voted as the leading destination in the Caribbean, and the leading beach destination in the world at the World Travel Award ceremony held at London in November, added more feathers to its cap by being voted as the leading honeymoon destination in the Caribbean by the Canadian travel agents.
The Canadian travel agents have also voted the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) as the favourite tourist board in the 2010 Agents' Choice Awards.
This is the second year in a row that Jamaica has won the top award in the honeymoon category and the fifth consecutive year that the JTB has been voted the choice tourist board by the Canadian travel industry.
Organised by Canadian Travel Press and Travel Courier, the flagship publications of the Baxter Travel Media, the awards are based on the votes of thousands of travel agents from across the country.
In fact, Jamaica has been the preferred destination of the Canadians and they comprise a large number of the more than one million visitors who flock to the island annually. Airlines in Canada have added additional flights to cater to the holiday rush during the High Season which officially starts 15 December 2010.
Private Jamaican rentals comprising villas, cottages and Jamaican apartments are fast emerging as the popular accommodation choice for people given their great services, proximity to attractions and their affordable rates.
