Jamaica Tourist Board Europe Marketing Campaign 2010
The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is all set to launch an extensive marketing programme in key United Kingdom (UK) and European cities, as part of the strategy to ensure a strong winter tourist season. Some £2 million will be spent on a series of events and travel agent workshops.
The JTB's District Sales Manager for the UK, Torrance Lewis said the events are planned to stimulate business for the key winter tourist season.
"They are planned around the main gateways for direct air services (to Jamaica) and will reach more than 1,000 travel agents. The campaign hopes to ensure that the industry has a strong performance during the forthcoming winter season from Europe," he added.
As part of the campaign, targeted events and workshops will be held in London, Essex, the East Midlands, Birmingham, and Manchester in the UK. On the continent, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart in Germany, as well as Milan and Rome, in Italy, will be targeted.
There will also be a number of Travel Agency 'FAM' (Familiarization) Trips starting in July as well as one for specialists in the Meetings, Incentives and Conventions sector.
Last week, the Cabinet had approved an additional US$10 million to boost the Jamaica Tourist Board's budget to execute an integrated marketing and sales plan over the next nine months.
With the country gearing up for the high season, Silver Sands villas and Jamaica apartments are all set to welcome guests with the best price guarantee—should you find the same Jamaica accommodation rentals for the same period at a lower price, they will refund the difference.
