Festival Week Marks Jamaica's Independence Day Celebrations 2010

Jamaica is celebrating its Independence with great fanfare and visitors to the island can enjoy the seven days of festivities from August 2 to 6, 2010.

The events showcase the best of Jamaica’s culture complete with patriotic, artistic expressions to ceremonials and exhibitions and climaxing with the Street Parade and Grand Gala.

The Grand Gala is a spectacular mass presentation which combines the finest in the performing arts and ceremonials, and street dances across the island. Both locals and visitors will be treated to songs, dances and different performing acts during the fun-filled independence holidays.

The events in Kingston will also be mirrored in Montego Bay. Guests at Silver Sands Jamaica can take day trips to both these places and can also be part of the fun and celebrations at the Independence Day party being held on 6th August on the Patio on the fabulous white sand beach.
