'Kingston on the Edge (KOTE) Art Festival Begins Today
The fourth edition of the Kingston on the Edge (KOTE) Art Festival begins today, the 18th of June, with a show and exhibition at Redbones. The festival, a brainchild of four art lovers, provides the ideal platform for creative interactions between artists, operators of venues and the general public, with a view to developing the tremendous artistic potential of the island country.
Ever since its inception, KOTE has gained world-renowned status and attracts participation of award winning artists from four different continents. This year, the festival aims to expose the artistic gems and powerful community spirit so often buried beneath negativity.
The festival includes events such as a theatre night, featuring some of Jamaica’s leading dramatists, dance workshops, concerts, visual art exhibitions, site specific performance art, among others. The beautiful artwork and the befitting backdrops add to the magical experience, which is a treat to the senses.
KOTE 2010 will run from June 18 to 26 at venues all across the city.
